Find answers to the most common questions about the Tally Counter app. If you can't find what you need, please feel free to contact us.
Basic Usage
On the app's main screen, tap the '+' button in the top right corner to create a new counter. Enter the counter name and initial value, then select an icon and color, and finally configure optional settings such as target value, increment step, reminders, or auto-reset cycle.
Long press on a counter in the main list, or tap the edit button in the top right corner of the counter detail screen.
On the main list or detail screen, tap the '+' button on the right side of the counter card to increase, or the '-' button on the left side to decrease. You can also directly input a value or use the slider on the detail screen.
Tap any counter on the main list to enter the detail screen. Here you can view charts, history, and edit the counter.
Advanced Features
When creating or editing a counter, enable the 'Set Target' option and enter a target value. A progress bar will be displayed on the main list and detail screen.
When creating or editing a counter, enable the 'Reminder' option, set the reminder time, and select the repeat frequency (by day).
When creating or editing a counter, enable the 'Auto-Reset Cycle' option, select the reset frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly), and specify the time.
Long press on a counter in the main list and select 'Archive'. Archived counters can be viewed and restored in the 'Archived Counters' section in settings.
Data Management
On the main list or archived list screen, tap the sort button in the top right corner. You can choose to sort by name, count, or creation date. Tap again to toggle between ascending/descending order.
List view shows more details, such as targets and progress bars. Compact view has a more streamlined layout. You can toggle the global view mode in settings, or let the app automatically choose based on whether the counter has a target or description.
Make sure you're logged into the same iCloud account on all devices, and have enabled iCloud sync in the app's Settings->Sync & Data. Data will automatically sync in the background.
In Settings->Sync & Data, you will find 'Import Data' and 'Export Data' options. Exporting data will generate a file containing all your counters and history.
Privacy & Data Storage
Your data is primarily stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, data will be stored in your iCloud account, protected by Apple's privacy policy.
We only collect information necessary for app functionality: your counter data, app usage statistics (if you choose to share), and crash reports (to help us improve the app).
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data in the following cases: when required by law or with third-party service providers necessary for providing our services.
